Black Wildebeest

This ox-like antelope can be distinguished from the Blue Wildebeest by its
obvious, long-haired white tail, fringe of hair on its nose and forward curling horns.
It has a smaller build than the Blue Wildebeest.
Both male and female have horns of approximately 20 inches (52 centimetres).
Black Wildebeest occur naturally in South Africa only. They feed during the cooler
parts of the day, and are often seen kneeling when they graze.
Large herds are formed and consist of either adult males, or adult males with females
and juveniles. Males are territorial and very aggressive during mating season.
