Hippopotamus

Weighing between 1 and 2 tons, the hippopotamus is a very large animal
with a grey to brownish, hairless skin.
It feeds during the night and is find resting in day time, body submerged
in water with only the ears, nose and eyes protruding.
Its habitat is permanent, open water with sufficient food in the
surrounding area. Hippos each eat easily more than 220 pounds
(100 kilograms) of grass every night.
Their calm appearance should not be under estimated as cows
with young, especially, can be very dangerous.
Hippopotamus' mouths are very big with long canines with an
average length of about 24 inches (60 centimetres)
