The Kudu is a large, stately and graceful antelope, of which males have beautiful spiral horns, lengths of about 47 inches (120 centimetres) and more. Larger males weigh between 506 to 594 pounds (230 to 270 kilograms). The colour ranges from brown to pale grey and the kudu has a number of vertical stripes on its flanks. It is very athletic and can easily jump 80 inches (2 metres) high. The male Kudu tilts its head backwards when moving fast through trees - its horns closely to its back. Enemies include lion, cheetah and leopard.
