Springbok

This medium-sized, soft-eyed antelope is the only gazelle found in Southern Africa and is South Africa's national animal.
The Springbok runs with an impressive bouncing motion, with its head held low and its legs stiff.
Males and females have lyre-shaped horns which are about 14 inches (35 centimetres) long. The Springbok's
light brown back is seperated from a white belly by a dark brown horizontal stripe along the flanks.
It prefers open, dry savannah areas or grass veld. Hyenas, lion, leopard and cheetah count among the Springboks' enemies.
